Abstract
The poverty rate of Banten Province resulted from the National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) in September 2017 of 5.59 percent. This figure means an increase of 0.14 points compared to the previous semester which amounted to 5.45 percent.
The increase in poverty by 0.14 points is in line with the increase in the number of poor people by 24.79 thousand people from 675.04 thousand people in March 2017 to 699.83 thousand people in September 2017.
The percentage of poor people in both urban and rural areas has increased. The percentage of the urban poor increased from 4.52 to 4.69 and the percentage of poor people in rural areas rose from 7.61 in March 2017 to 7.81 in September 2017.
