Abstract

The Banten Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) in Quarter I-2019 was 111.22, meaning that the economic conditions of consumers increased or were better than the previous quarter. However, the level of confidence or optimism of consumers has decreased compared to Quarter IV-2018 (ITK of 111.35).

The improvement in consumer economic conditions in the first quarter of 2019 was driven by improvements in all forming variables, namely the increase in household income, the low influence of inflation on consumption levels and the increased consumption of food, processed food in restaurants / restaurants and not food.

Banten's Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) in the Quarter II-2019 later, is estimated at 127.96. This means that the condition of the consumer economy in the coming quarter is expected to increase. The level of consumer optimism is also expected to increase compared to Quarter I-2019 (ITK of 111.22).

The improvement in the economic conditions of consumers in the second quarter of 2019 is expected to occur due to an increase in household income, which is reinforced by an increase in plans to purchase durable, recreational and party / celebration goods by consumers
