Abstract

In September 2019, prices of goods / services for basic needs of the people in Banten in general decrease. This can be seen from the change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 147.08 in August to 146.91 in September or there was a change in the index (deflation) of -0.12 percent.

Six of the expenditure groups that have experienced an increase in the index, namely successively: the clothing group rose by 1.28 percent, the education, recreation and sports group increased by 0.41 percent, the health group rose by 0.20 percent, the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group rose by 0.12 percent, the food group thus, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco rose by 0.09 percent, the transportation, communication and financial services group increased by 0.09 percent. While the foodstuffs group experienced a decrease in index by -1.24 percent.

The dominant commodities contributing to inflation this September were gold jewelery, academies / colleges high, detergent soap powder, sanitary napkins, detergent cream and milkfish soap.

The calendar year inflation rate was 2.59 percent, while the Year on Year inflation (CPI September 2019 to September 2018) was 3.64 percent.
