Quarter III-2019 Consumer Tendency Index and Quarter IV-2019 Estimates

Abstract

Banten Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) in Quarter III-2019 was 106.48, meaning that the economic condition of consumers improved or was better than the previous quarter. However, the level of consumer confidence or optimism declined compared to Quarter II-2019 (ITK of 129.59).
The improvement in consumer economic conditions in Quarter III-2019 was driven by improvements in all forming variables, namely rising household income, low influence of inflation on consumption levels and increased consumption of food, processed foods in restaurants / restaurants and not food.
Banten Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) in the fourth Quarter-2019, estimated at 105.23. Means, the economic condition of consumers in the coming quarter is expected to improve. However, the level of consumer optimism is expected to decrease compared to Quarter III-2019 (ITK of 106.48).
The improvement in consumer economic conditions in the next Quarter IV-2019 is expected to occur due to an increase in household income, which is strengthened by an increase in plans for purchasing durable goods, recreation and parties / celebration by consumers.
