January 2020 the combined inflation of 3 CPI City in Banten Province was 0.42 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Serang Municipality by 0.63 percent.

Abstract

In January 2020 there was inflation of 0.42 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.54. From 3 cities CPI in Banten Province, all municipality experience inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Serang Municipality by 0.63 percent with CPI of 106.07 and the lowest occurred in Tangerang Municipality by 0.36 percent with CPI of 104.19. Meanwhile Cilegon Municipality experienced inflation of 0.59 percent with CPI of 104.96.

Inflation occurs because of an increase in prices as indicated by the rise in most indices of the expenditure group, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.72 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.17 percent; housing, water, electricity and other fuels group of -0.01 percent; household appliances, equipment and routine maintenance by 0.15 percent; health group of -0.09 percent; transportation group by -0.80 percent; information, communication and financial services group by -0.03 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 0.02 percent; education group by 0.05 percent; the food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 0.18 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.59 percent.

The January 2020 calendar year inflation rate is 0.42 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (January 2020 against January 2019) is 2.85 percent.
