Banten Economy Quarter II-2020 experienced a contraction of 7.40 Percent

Abstract

Banten's economy based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) based on current prices in the second quarter of 2020 reached Rp 146.72 trillion and at the base of constant prices in 2010 reached Rp 104.66 trillion.

Banten economy in the second quarter of 2020 contracted 7.40 percent (y-on-y). From the production side, negative growth was driven by almost all business fields, with the lowest growth being achieved by the Transportation and Warehousing Business Field by minus 47.00 percent. On the expenditure side, the deepest negative growth occurred in the Total Net Export Expenditures Component, which contracted by 49.12 percent.

Banten economy in the second quarter of 2020 contracted by 8.55 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the lowest growth was in the Transportation and Warehousing Business Field by minus 43.94 percent. While in terms of expenditure the deepest decline in the component of Total Net Exports was contracted by 54.03 percent.

Banten economy in the first semester of 2020 against the first semester of 2019 contracted by 2.15 percent. From the production side, negative growth occurred in almost all business sectors. The lowest growth was in the Transportation and Warehousing business field by minus 25.54 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, it was mainly caused by the Contracted Total Net Exports Component which contracted by 25.37 percent.

The economic structure of the Province of Java in the second quarter of 2020 was still dominated by DKI Jakarta Province which contributed to the Gross Regional Domestic Product of Java by 29.33 percent, followed by East Java Province by 24.93 percent, West Java Province by 22.97 percent. Meanwhile, Banten Province contributed 6.63 percent.
