Abstract

IDI is a composite indicator that shows the level of development of democracy in Indonesia. The level of achievement is measured based on the implementation and development of three aspects of democracy, namely Civil Liberties (Civil Liberty), Political Rights (Political Rights), and the Institution of Democracy.
The methodology for calculating IDI uses 4 data sources, namely: (1) review of local newspapers, (2) review of documents (Perda, Pergub, etc.), (3) Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and (4) in-depth interviews.
The 2019 IDI Banten reached 72.60 on a scale of 0 to 100. This figure has decreased compared to the 2018 IDI Banten figure of 73.78. Banten democracy performance achievements are in the "medium" category. The classification of the level of democracy is grouped into three categories, namely "good" (index> 80), "moderate" (index 60 - 80), and "bad" (index <60).
Changes in IDI numbers from 2018-2019 were influenced by three aspects of democracy, namely (1) Civil Freedom decreased by 2.76 points (from 86.59 to 83.83), (2) Political Rights increased by 0.18 points (from 60 , 11 to 60.29), and (3) Democratic Institutions decreased by 1.38 points (from 79.40 to 78.01).
