Banten Economy in Quarter II-2021 Grows 8.95 Percent (y-on-y)

Abstract

Banten's economy based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) based on current prices in the second quarter of 2021 reached Rp163.78 trillion and at constant prices in 2010 it reached Rp114.00 trillion.

Banten's economy in the second quarter of 2021 against the second quarter of 2020 grew by 8.95 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Transportation and Warehousing Business Field of 41.34 percent. In terms of expenditure, the Net Export component grew by 92.41 percent, while the components of Gross Fixed Capital Formation and Household Consumption grew by 6.24 percent and 5.88 percent, respectively.

Banten's economy in the second quarter of 2021 compared to the first quarter of 2021 grew by 0.27 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Mining and Quarrying Business Field of 13.03 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Government Consumption Expenditure Component of 15.20 percent.

Banten's economy in the first semester of 2021 compared to the first semester of 2020 grew by 4.05 percent (c-to-c). In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Health Services and Social Activities Business Field of 14.16 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the highest growth occurred in the Net Export Component of 26.42 percent.

The economic structure of Java Provinces in Quarter II-2021 is still dominated by DKI Jakarta Province which contributes to the Gross Regional Domestic Product in Java by 29.74 percent, followed by East Java Province at 24.93 percent, West Java Province at 22.63 percent. Meanwhile, Banten Province contributed 6.75 percent.
