Abstract
The total workforce in February 2022 was 5.91 million
people, a decrease of 340.76 thousand people compared to February 2021.
Meanwhile, the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) increased by 0.80
percentage point.
The working population is 5.41 million people, a decrease of
281.61 thousand people from February 2021. Employment fields that experienced
the largest percentage increase were the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries
Sector (4.07 percentage points). Meanwhile, the sector that experienced the
biggest decline was the Wholesale and Retail Trade Sector (2.77 percentage
points).
A total of 2.78 million people (51.43 percent) worked in
informal activities, an increase of 0.94 percentage point compared to February
2021.
The percentage of underemployed decreased by 1.09 percentage
points, while the percentage of part-time workers decreased by 1.34 percentage
points compared to February 2021.
The February 2022 Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) was 8.53
percent, down 0.48 percentage point compared to February 2021.
There are 468.34 thousand people (5.16 percent of the
working age population) affected by COVID-19. Consists of unemployment due to
COVID-19 (51.38 thousand people), Non Labor Force (BAK) due to COVID-19 (21.59
thousand people), temporarily not working due to COVID-19 (15.05 thousand
people), and residents working who experienced a reduction in working hours due
to COVID-19 (380.32 thousand people).
