Abstract

A. Export Development

  • Banten's export value in May 2022 fell 27.86 percent compared to the previous month, from US$1.44 billion to US$1.04 billion.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in May 2022 decreased by 28.54 percent to US$1.02 billion compared to the previous month.
  • The largest non-oil and gas export value in May 2022 came from the footwear category (HS 64), which reached US$185.45 million.
  • The largest non-oil and gas export destination country in May 2022 was the United States with an export value of US$208.14 million.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in May 2022 experienced a decline in the agricultural sector, the manufacturing sector, as well as the mining and other sectors when compared to the previous month.
  • The highest export value of Banten in May 2022 was through Tanjung Priok Port which reached US$777.91 million.

B. Import Development

  • Banten's import value in May 2022 rose 3.89 percent compared to the previous month, from US$1.68 billion to US$1.75 billion.
  • Oil and gas imports in May 2022 rose 23.89 percent from US$682.68 million in the previous month to US$845.74 million. In contrast to oil and gas, non-oil and gas commodities experienced a 9.75 percent decline in the value of imports to US$903.33 million compared to the previous month.
  • The largest non-oil and gas import value in May 2022 came from the organic chemical group (HS 29) which reached US$266.69 million.
  • The largest supplier of non-oil and gas imported goods in May 2022 was Australia with an import value of US$120.64 million.
  • The import value by category of use of goods in May 2022 compared to the previous month experienced an increase in the value of imports occurring in the raw/auxiliary materials and capital goods categories, while there was a decrease in the import value of consumer goods.
  • Judging from the port of unloading, the largest import value for May 2022 came from Merak Port which reached US$994.67 million.
