Abstract

In December 2023, there will be year on year (yoy) inflation for the 3 cities combined at 3.06 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 116.56. The highest yoy inflation occurred in the city of Cilegon at 3.50 percent with a CPI of 119.90. Next in Tangerang was 3.17 percent with a CPI of 115.37. The lowest inflation occurred in Serang at 2.11 percent with a CPI of 120.24.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index for 11 expenditure groups, namely the food, beverage and tobacco group by 6.80 percent; personal care and other services group at 5.46 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group at 2.04 percent; health group by 1.97 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.79 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 1.53 percent; transportation group by 1.32 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 1.14 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 1.01 percent; the clothing and footwear group was 0.87 percent, the education group was 0.66 percent.
The month to month (mtm) inflation rate for December 2023 was 0.48 percent and the year to date (ytd) inflation rate for December 2023 was 3.06 percent.
