Development of Banten Province Consumer Price Index in May 2024

Abstract

In May 2024, year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Banten Province will be 2.86 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.05. The highest inflation occurred in Cilegon City at 3.20 percent with a CPI of 106.88.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 5.23 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.64 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.29 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 2.23 percent; health group by 1.05 percent; transportation group by 0.95 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.25 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 0.75 percent; education group of 0.75 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 4.16 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 5.14 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for Banten Province in May 2024 is 0.52 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate is 1.35 percent.
