Profile of Poverty in Banten Province in March 2024

Abstract

The percentage of poor people in Banten Province in March 2024 was 5.84 percent, a decrease of 0.33 percentage points compared to March 2023.
The number of poor people in March 2024 was 791.61 thousand people, a decrease of 34.5 thousand people compared to March 2023.
The percentage of urban poor people in March 2023 was 6.00 percent, falling to 5.69 percent in March 2024. Meanwhile, the percentage of rural poor people in March 2023 was 6.79 percent, falling to 6.44 percent in March 2024.
Compared to March 2023, the number of poor urban residents in March 2024 decreased by 8.1 thousand people (from 623.19 thousand people in March 2023 to 615.07 thousand people in March 2024). Meanwhile, in the same period the number of poor rural residents fell by 26.4 thousand people (from 202.93 thousand people in March 2023 to 176.54 thousand people in March 2024).
The Poverty Line in March 2024 was recorded at IDR 654,213/capita/month with a composition of the Food Poverty Line of IDR 474,039 (72.46 percent) and the Non-Food Poverty Line of IDR 180,174 (27.54 percent).
In March 2024, on average poor households in Banten will have 5.09 household members. Thus, the Poverty Line per poor household on average is IDR 3,329,944/poor household/month.
