Development of Banten Province Consumer Price Index in July 2024

·      In July 2024, Banten Province experienced year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation of 2.30 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.72. The highest inflation occurred in Cilegon City at 2.55 percent with a CPI of 106.41.

·      The y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 3.07 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.51 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.36 percent; household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group by 2.54 percent; health group by 1.82 percent; transportation group by 1.15 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.23 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 1.61 percent; education group by 0.92 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 4.33 percent; and personal care and other services group by 5.32 percent.

The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate of Banten Province in July 2024 was 0.24 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 1.03 percent.
