Development of Consumer Price Index in Banten Province in August 2024

·         In August 2024 there was year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Banten Province of 2.45 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.73. The highest inflation occurred in Cilegon City at 2.69 percent with a CPI of 106.37.

·         Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in the index of expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 3.18 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.73 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.36 percent; household supplies, equipment and routine maintenance group by 2.56 percent; health group by 1.58 percent; transportation group by 1.38 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.30 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 1.84 percent; education group by 1.38 percent; food and beverage supply/restaurant group by 4.24 percent; and personal care and other services group by 6.34 percent.

·         Banten Province's month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate in August 2024 was 0.01 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 1.04 percent.
