Abstract

  • Banten's Gender Inequality Index (IKG) in 2024 was 0.453, down 0.011 points compared to 2023. The decline in gender inequality occurred in most districts/cities in Banten.
  • The decline in the Gender Inequality Index (IKG) was mainly influenced by improvements in the reproductive health dimension and the labor market dimension.
  • The improvement in the reproductive health dimension was influenced by a decline in the indicator of women giving birth outside of health facilities (MTF) and the indicator of women giving birth for the first time aged <20 years (MHPK20). MTF decreased from 0.119 in 2023 to 0.086 in 2024, while MHPK20 decreased from 0.254 in 2023 to 0.241 in 2024.
  • The improvement in the labor market dimension was influenced by the increase in the female labor force participation rate (TPAK) indicator which increased from 46.16 percent in 2023 to 48.90 percent in 2024.
