BPS-Statistics Banten Province released the Official Statistics News on September 2, 2024, year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation in Banten was 2.45 percent. The expenditure groups that contributed to inflation y-on-y were the food, beverage and tobacco group at 1.00 percent, food and beverage providers/restaurants at 0.45 percent, and personal care and other services with a contribution of 0.37 percent.
The main contributors to inflation in August 2024 y-on-y were gold jewelry, rice, rice with side dishes, machine-made kretek cigarettes, and cayenne pepper. On the other hand, the contribution to deflation y-on-y was tomatoes, chicken eggs, shallots, chicken meat, and tempeh.
Meanwhile, month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation was 0.01 percent, with the main contribution of m-to-m inflation being price increases in several expenditure groups including personal care and other services with a contribution of 0.05 percent, education with a contribution of 0.03 percent, and transportation (increase in fuel prices) with a contribution of 0.03 percent.
The main contributors to August's inflation m-to-m were gasoline, ground coffee, junior high schools, cayenne pepper and gold jewelry, while the main contributors to August 2024's m-to-m deflation were shallots, broiler chicken, broiler chicken eggs, oranges and spring onions.
