BPS-Statistics Banten Province released the Official Statistics News on March 8, 2025, month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation was 2.02 percent, while the expenditure group that contributed the most to m-to-m inflation was the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group at 1.30 percentage points. The main commodities contributing to inflation in general were electricity tariffs, shallots, gold jewelry, broiler chicken, and intercity transportation.
Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation in Banten Province in March 2025 was 0.70 percentage points, while the main contributor to y-on-y inflation in March 2025 was the personal care and other services group, with a contribution of 0.49 percentage points. The largest contribution to inflation in this group was gold jewelry at 0.37 percentage points.
In this Official Statistics News release, the Senior Statistician of BPS-Statistics Banten Province, Bambang Widjonarko, also conveyed the development of Banten Export Import in the period of February 2025, where Banten Export in February 2025 reached US$1,084.35 million, up 1.29 percent from January 2025 (US$1,070.52 million) and up 14.10 percent from February 2024 (US$950.33 million). The largest share of Non-Oil and Gas in Banten Province in February 2025 was Cocoa/Chocolate which reached US$127.68 million (11.81%). Meanwhile, the highest exports by destination country were the United States US$181.14 million, China US$117.04 million, and India US$94.77 million.
Meanwhile, Banten's imports in February 2025 reached US$3,261.58 million, up 18.30 percent from January 2025 which was US$2,757.03 million, and up 13.44 percent from February 2024 which was US$2,875.06 million. The largest share of non-oil and gas in February 2025 was electrical machinery/equipment which reached US$612.72 million (21.59%). Banten's non-oil and gas imports by country of origin were China US$865.87 million, Singapore US$303.31 million, and Japan US$194.32 million.
