POVERTY RATE OF BANTEN MARET PROVINCE TO BECOME 5.45 PERCENT

Abstract

The poverty rate of Banten Province resulting from the National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) in March 2017 was 5.45 percent. This figure means an increase of 0.09 points compared to the previous semester of 5.36 percent.

The poverty increment of 0.09 points is in line with the 17.3 thousand increase in the number of poor people from 657.74 thousand people in September 2016 to 675.04 thousand in March 2017.

The percentage of poor people in both urban and rural areas has increased. The percentage of the urban poor increased from 4.49 to 4.52 and the percentage of poor people in rural areas rose from 7.32 in September 2016 to 7.61 in March 2017.

The number of poor people in both urban and rural areas has also increased. In urban areas increased by 10.9 thousand people (from 380.16 thousand people in September 2016 to 391.03 thousand in March 2017). While the poor in rural areas increased by 6.4 thousand people (from 277.58 thousand people in September 2016 to 284.00 thousand people in March 2017).
