Abstract

In March 2017, the level of inequality of Banten population expenditure as measured by Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.382. This figure is down 0.010 points when compared with Gini Ratio September 2016 which amounted to 0.392.

Inequality in urban consumption expenditure is higher than in rural areas, as shown by the Gini Ratio ratio of 0.381 versus 0.267. Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2017 of 0.381 decreased compared to Gini Ratio September 2016 which amounted to 0.399. While the Gini Ratio in rural areas actually increased from 0.248 in September 2016 to 0.267 in March 2017.

In March 2017, the distribution of expenditure of the lowest 40 percent population group was 17.50 percent. This means that the population expenditure is still in the category of low level of inequality. If detailed by region, in urban areas the figure is recorded at 17.17 percent and in rural areas of 22.91. Percent.
