AUGUST 2017 BANTEN DEFLATION 0,01 PERCENT

Entering August 2017, the price of goods / services of basic needs of society in Banten
generally decreased slightly. This is evident from the decline in the Consumer Price Index (CPI)
from 136.73 in July to 136.72 in August or an index change (deflation) of
-0.01 percent.
Dominant commodities contributing to deflation this month are onion, red chili, onion
white, jengkol, coconut, cayenne, orange and papaya.
The calendar year inflation rate stood at 2.66 percent, while the inflation "Year on Year" (CPI August 2017
against August 2016) was recorded at 4.28 percent.
