Abstract

In November 2019, the prices of goods / services for basic needs of the people in Banten in general have increased. This can be seen from the change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 147.10 in October to 147.62 in November or there was a change in index (inflation) of 0.36 percent.

Six of the seven expenditure groups that experienced an increase in the index, namely successive: the foodstuffs group experienced an increase in the index by 1.25 percent, the health group rose by 0.32 percent, the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group and the group housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel each rose by 0.17 percent, the education, recreation and sports group increased by 0.03 percent, the clothing group increased by 0.01 percent. While the transportation, communication and financial services group experienced an index decline of -0.07 percent.

The dominant commodities contributing to inflation in November were shallots, red chillies, broiler chicken, house rental, cars, and broiler eggs.

The calendar year inflation rate was 3.08 percent, while the Year on Year inflation (CPI November 2019 to November 2018) was 3.73 percent.
