Abstract
Human development in Banten has consistently progressed, as indicated by the increase in the Human Development Index (HDI). In 2020, Banten's IPM has reached 72.45, or an increase of 0.01 points compared to last year's 72.44.
The progress of Banten human development in 2020 is experiencing a slowdown. This is marked by the growth in HDI which is only 0.01 percent, lower than the growth in 2019 which reached 0.68 percent.
In 2020, Banten's human development status is still at the “High” level or category. Banten has achieved this status since 2015.
The increase in Banten's HDI in 2020 only occurs in three constituent components. With the highest growth for the component of Average Length of Schooling (RLS), while the component that experienced a decline was Adjusted Per Capita Expenditure (PKP). As for the value or achievement of Life Expectancy (UHH), Expectation of School Time (HLS), RLS, and PKP, reaching 69.96 years, 12.89 years, 8.89 years, and 11.96 million rupiah.
The increase in Banten's HDI only occurred in five regions. With the highest and lowest HDIs still occupied by South Tangerang City (81.36) and Lebak Regency (63.91).
