Development of Consumer Price Index/Inflation April 2022 in Banten Province

Abstract

In April 2022 there was inflation of 0.97 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 110.52. The three CPI cities in Banten Province experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Cilegon City at 1.16 percent with a CPI of 112.69. Followed by the city of Tangerang at 0.97 percent with a CPI of 109.68. Followed by Serang with 0.79 percent with a CPI of 113.32.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index of 8 expenditure groups, namely the transportation group by 3.48 percent; health group by 2.46 percent; food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.14 percent; personal care and other services group by 1.12 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 1.03 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.47 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 0.05 percent and the provision of food and beverages/restaurants by 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, the group that experienced the deepest decline in the index was the clothing and footwear group by 0.38 percent. Meanwhile, the information, communication and financial services group as well as the education group experienced insignificant changes in the index, each less than 0.01 percent.
calendar year inflation (April 2022 - December 2021) was 2.70 percent, and year-on-year inflation (April 2022 to April 2021) was 3.82 percent.
