In Banten Province, inflation in May 2022 was 0.19 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Serang City at 0.84 percent.

Abstract

In May 2022 there was inflation of 0.19 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 110.73. The three CPI cities in Banten Province experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Serang City at 0.84 percent with a CPI of 114.27. Followed by Cilegon City at 0.26 percent with a CPI of 112.98. Followed by Tangerang City at 0.05 percent with a CPI of 109.73.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index of 11 expenditure groups, namely the personal care and other services group by 0.50 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.42 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.36 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.23 percent; food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.19 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.19 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 0.11 percent; health group by 0.05 percent; education group by 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, the group that experienced a decline in the index was the transportation group by 0.06 percent. Meanwhile, the information, communication and financial services group experienced an insignificant change in the index, which was less than 0.01 percent.
Calendar year inflation (May 2022 - December 2021) is 2.89 percent, and year-on-year inflation (May 2022 to May 2021) is 3.77 percent.
