Abstract

As of September 2022, the level of income inequality in Banten Province as measured by the Gini Ratio is 0.377. This figure increased by 0.014 points compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2022 and the Gini Ratio in September 2021 of 0.363.
The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2022 was recorded at 0.384, an increase compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2022 which was 0.367 and the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.365.
The Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2022 was recorded at 0.266, down from the Gini Ratio in March 2022 which was 0.287 and the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.278.
Based on the World Bank's measure of inequality, the distribution of expenditure in the bottom 40 percent is 18.47 percent. This means that population spending in September 2022 is in the category of low inequality. If broken down by region, in urban areas the figure was recorded at 17.91 percent, which means it belongs to the low inequality category. Meanwhile for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 24.03 percent, which means it belongs to the low inequality category.
