Abstract

A. Export Development

  • Banten's export value in January 2023 fell 9.83 percent compared to the previous month, namely from US$1.08 billion to US$0.97 billion.
  • January 2023 non-oil and gas exports decreased by 10.65 percent to US$0.96 billion compared to the previous month.
  • The largest non-oil and gas export value in January 2023 came from the footwear category (HS 64), which reached US$186.37 million.
  • The largest non-oil and gas export destination country for January 2023 is the United States with an export value of US$125.63 million.
  • January 2023 non-oil and gas exports experienced an increase in the agricultural sector. Meanwhile, the manufacturing sector as well as the mining and other sectors experienced a decline.
  • Banten's highest export value in January 2023 was through Tanjung Priok Port, which reached US$826.22 million.

B. Import Development

  • Banten's January 2023 import value fell 4.47 percent compared to the previous month, namely from US$1.50 billion to US$1.44 billion.
  • Oil and gas imports in January 2023 fell 7.62 percent from US$551.46 million in the previous month to US$509.43 million. Then for non-oil and gas commodities there was a decrease in the value of imports by 2.65 percent to US$926.71 million when compared to the previous month.
  • The largest non-oil and gas import value in January 2023 came from the organic chemicals group (HS 29) which reached US$182.17 million.
  • The largest supplier of imported non-oil and gas goods in January 2023 was Australia with an import value of US$133.60 million.
  • The value of imports by category of goods used in January 2023 compared to the previous month decreased in value for all categories, namely capital goods decreased by US$ 63.10 million (46.82 percent), consumer goods by US$ 3.38 million (13.76 percent), and raw/auxiliary materials of US$0.78 million (0.06 percent).
  • Judging from the port of discharge, the largest import value for January 2023 came from the Port of Merak which reached US$851.49 million.
