Abstract

A. Export Development

  • Banten's export value in May 2023 rose 27.61 percent compared to the previous month, namely from US$0.88 billion to US$1.12 billion.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in May 2023 increased by 28.09 percent to US$1.10 billion compared to the previous month.
  • The largest non-oil and gas export value in May 2023 came from the footwear category (HS 64), which reached US$203.48 million.
  • The largest non-oil and gas export destination country in May 2023 is the United States with an export value of US$147.71 million.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in May 2023 have increased in all sectors, both the industrial sector, the agricultural sector and the mining sector and others.
  • Banten's highest export value in May 2023 was through Tanjung Priok Port, which reached US$930.27 million.

B. Import Development

  • Starting from July 2023 release, the import values ​​presented are based on data from the Customs and Excise Service Office (KPPBC) of Banten Province.
  • Banten's import value in May 2023 rose 23.99 percent compared to the previous month, namely from US$2.54 billion to US$3.15 billion.
  • Oil and gas imports in May 2023 fell 7.07 percent from US$601.43 million in the previous month to US$558.90 million. Then in non-oil and gas commodities there was an increase in the value of imports by 33.62 percent to US$2.59 billion when compared to the previous month.
  • The largest non-oil and gas import value in May 2023 came from machinery and electrical equipment (HS 85) which reached US$525.43 million.
  • The largest supplier of imported non-oil and gas goods in May 2023 was China with an import value of US$392.28 million.
  • The import value by class of use of goods in May 2023 compared to the previous month all experienced an increase in the value of raw/auxiliary materials by US$375.72 million (19.55 percent), capital goods increased by US$128.83 million (28.32 percent) and goods consumption of US$104.81 million (63.92 percent).
