Abstract

A. Export Development

  • Banten's export value in August 2023 increased 4.91 percent compared to the previous month, namely from US$1.02 billion to US$1.07 billion.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in August 2023 increased by 5.13 percent to US$1.06 billion compared to the previous month.
  • The largest non-oil and gas export value in August 2023 came from the footwear goods category (HS 64), reaching US$209.48 million.
  • The largest non-oil and gas export destination country in August 2023 is China with an export value of US$164.92 million.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in August 2023 experienced a decline in the agricultural sector, while the industrial sector, mining and other sectors experienced an increase.
  • Banten's export value in August 2023 was highest through Tanjung Priok Port, reaching US$926.68 million.

B. Import Development

  • Starting from July 2023 release, the import values presented are based on data from the Banten Province Customs Supervision and Services Office (KPPBC).
  • Banten's import value in August 2023 rose 2.38 percent compared to the previous month, namely from US$2.89 billion to US$2.96 billion.
  • Oil and gas imports in August 2023 rose 8.57 percent from US$477.78 million in the previous month to US$518.71 million. Likewise, for non-oil and gas commodities, the value of imports increased by 1.15 percent to US$2.44 billion compared to the previous month.
  • The largest non-oil and gas import value in August 2023 came from electrical machinery and equipment (HS 85) which reached US$552.35 million.
  • The largest supplier of non-oil and gas imported goods in August 2023 is China with an import value of US$387.26 million.
  • The value of imports by goods use class in August 2023 compared to the previous month experienced an increase in the value of raw/auxiliary materials by US$21.59 million (1.08 percent) and consumer goods by US$147.36 million (65.94 percent). Meanwhile, capital goods decreased by US$100.28 million (15.04 percent).
