April 2023 Cilegon Municipality experienced inflation of 0.2 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 117.64.

Abstract

Of the 3 CPI monitoring cities in Banten Province, all cities experienced inflation, the lowest inflation occurred in Cilegon Municipality at 0.2 percent with a CPI of 117.64 while the highest inflation occurred in Tangerang Municipality at 0.68 percent with a CPI of 113.47.
Inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by increases in most of the expenditure group indices. On the other hand, deflation occurred due to a decrease in prices as indicated by the decline in most of the expenditure group indices. Of the 11 expenditure groups, 5 expenditure groups experienced inflation, 5 expenditure groups did not experience changes in index, and 1 expenditure group experienced deflation. The food, beverage and tobacco group experienced inflation of 0.26 percent; the transportation group experienced inflation of 0.47 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group experienced inflation of 0.02 percent; the food and beverage/restaurant provision group experienced inflation of 0.33 percent; the personal care and other services group experienced inflation of 0.67 percent; while the clothing and footwear group; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group; health group; information, communication, and financial services group; and the education group experienced no changes in index, and the equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group experienced a deflation of -0.24 percent.
The April 2023 calendar year inflation rate is 1.55 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (April 2023 against April 2022) is 4.39 percent.
Banten Province experienced inflation of 3.77 percent and the National experienced inflation of 0.33 percent.
