Development of Banten Exports and Imports, December 2023

A.      Export Development

• Banten's export value in December 2023 fell 5.01 percent compared to the previous month, namely from US$1.05 billion to US$1.00 billion.
• Non-oil and gas exports in December 2023 decreased by 4.74 percent to US$0.99 billion compared to the previous month.
• The largest non-oil and gas export value in December 2023 came from the footwear goods category (HS 64), reaching US$168.42 million.
• The largest non-oil and gas export destination country in December 2023 is China with an export value of US$151.07 million.
• Non-oil and gas exports in December 2023 will experience a decline in the processing industry sector as well as the mining and other sectors. Meanwhile, the agricultural sector experienced an increase.
• Banten's export value in December 2023 was highest through Tanjung Priok Port, reaching US$827.37 million.

B.      Import Development

• Banten's import value in December 2023 increased 1.69 percent compared to the previous month, namely from US$2.98 billion to US$3.03 billion.
• Oil and gas imports in December 2023 rose 4.85 percent from US$503.04 million in the previous month to US$527.42 million. Likewise, for non-oil and gas commodities, the value of imports increased by 1.05 percent to US$2.51 billion compared to the previous month.
• The largest non-oil and gas import value in December 2023 came from electrical machinery/equipment (HS 85) which reached US$486.87 million.
• The largest supplier of non-oil and gas imported goods in December 2023 was China with an import value of US$414.38 million.
• The value of imports by goods use class in December 2023 compared to the previous month experienced a decrease in the value of capital goods amounting to US$ 214.57 million (25.98 percent). Meanwhile, consumer goods and raw/auxiliary materials increased respectively by US$0.42 million (0.18 percent) and US$264.71 million (13.75 percent).
