A. Export Development

• Banten's export value in January–May 2025 reached US$5,266.78 million or increased by 3.88 percent compared to the same period in 2024. In line with total exports, the value of non-oil and gas exports which reached US$5,239.71 million also increased by 3.85 percent and the value of oil and gas exports which reached US$27.07 million or increased by 8.08 percent.
• Banten's export value in May 2025 reached US$1,120.54 million or increased by 3.44 percent compared to exports in May 2024. Non-oil and gas exports in May 2025 reached US$1,114.97 million, increased by 3.41 percent compared to May 2024.
• Of the ten commodities with the largest non-oil and gas export values ​​in January–May 2025, the commodity that experienced the largest increase was cocoa/chocolate (HS 18) of US$389.05 million (369.46 percent). Meanwhile, footwear (HS 64) experienced the largest decline of US$469.87 million (52.67 percent).
• The largest non-oil and gas exports from January to May 2025 were to the United States at US$823.94 million, followed by China at US$601.49 million, and India at US$467.65 million, with the contribution of the three reaching 36.13 percent. Meanwhile, exports to ASEAN and the European Union (27 countries) were US$1,254.47 million and US$652.10 million, respectively.
• By sector, non-oil and gas exports from the processing industry from January to May 2025 increased by 3.10 percent compared to the same period in 2024, as well as exports of agricultural, forestry, and fisheries products increased by 7.06 percent, and exports of mining and other products increased by 1,080.36 percent.
• According to the port of loading, Banten's largest exports in January–May 2025 were via Tanjung Priok port with a value of US$4,388.34 million (83.32 percent), followed by Cigading US$289.01 million (5.49 percent) and Tanjung Leneng US$261.91 million (4.97 percent).

B. Import Development

• Banten's import value from January to May 2025 reached US$16,499.16 million or increased by 9.08 percent compared to the same period the previous year. In line with total imports, the value of non-oil and gas imports also increased by 11.52 percent to US$14,159.46 million.
• Banten's import value from May 2025 reached US$3,361.54 million, up 16.90 percent compared to May 2024. Likewise, non-oil and gas imports increased by 13.31 percent to US$2,863.75 million.
• Of the ten main non-oil and gas goods categories from January to May 2025, the jewelry/gems category (HS 71) experienced the highest increase of US$1,457.65 million (173.04 percent) compared to the same period the previous year. Meanwhile, the electrical machinery/equipment category (HS 85) experienced the largest decrease of US$279.83 million (8.39 percent).
• The three largest non-oil and gas import supplier countries during January-May 2025 were China US$3,799.78 million (26.84 percent), Singapore US$1,722.70 million (12.17 percent), and Japan US$980.87 million (6.93 percent). Non-oil and gas imports from ASEAN were US$2,952.21 million (20.85 percent). During January-May 2025, the value of raw/auxiliary material imports rose 7.11 percent to US$11,262.76 million compared to the same period the previous year. Likewise, capital goods rose 19.74 percent to US$4,234.11 million. Meanwhile, consumer goods fell 6.74 percent to US$1,002.29 million.
