August 2018 Banten Inflation of 0.20 Percent

In August 2018, the prices of goods / services of basic needs of the people in Banten in general experienced an increase. This can be seen from the increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 141.47 in July to 141.75 in August or a change in the index (inflation) of 0.20 percent.
Six of the seven expenditure groups experienced an increase in the index, namely: the education, recreation and sports group which rose by 1, 67 percent; housing, water, electricity and gas groups rose by 0.75 percent; the transportation, communication and financial services group rose by 0.34 percent; processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco groups rose by 0.15 percent; the health group rose by 0.14 percent and the clothing group increased by 0.09 percent while the foodstuffs group experienced a decrease in index by -0.91 percent;
The dominant commodities contributing to inflation in August were primary schools, broiler meat, air transport, milk for toddlers, melons and housing contracts.
The calendar year inflation rate stood at 2.37 percent, while "Year on Year" inflation (August 2018 CPI against August 2017) was recorded at 3.68 percent
