March 2020 the combined inflation of 3 City of CPI in Banten Province was 0.04 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Serang City by 0.22 percent.

Abstract

In March 2020 inflation of 0.04 percent occurred with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.82. Of the 3 CPI cities in Banten Province, two cities experienced inflation. And one deflation city. The highest inflation occurred in Serang City by 0.22 percent with CPI of 106.48 and Cilegon City of 0.11 with CPI of 105.56. Unlike the other two cities, Tangerang City experienced deflation of 0.01 percent with CPI of 104.40.

Inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by the increase in most indexes of the expenditure group, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by -0.34 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.22 percent; housing, water, electricity and other fuels group of -0.04 percent; household appliances, equipment and routine maintenance by 0.47 percent; health group of 0.02 percent; transportation group by 0.16 percent; information, communication and financial services group by -0.11 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 0,19 percent; education group by 0,00 percent; food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 0.09 percent; and personal care and other services by 1.51 percent.

The March 2020 calendar year inflation rate is 0.70 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (March 2020 against March 2019) is 2.99 percent.
