In Banten Province, inflation in February 2022 was 0.08 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Serang City at 0.28 percent.

Abstract

In February 2022 there was inflation of 0.08 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 108.34. Two CPI cities in Banten Province experienced inflation. One city experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Serang City at 0.28 percent with a CPI of 111.19. This was followed by the city of Tangerang at 0.11 percent with a CPI of 107.55. Meanwhile, the city of Cilegon experienced a deflation of 0.34 percent with a CPI of 110.14.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index of 9 expenditure groups, namely the equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group by 1.17 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.53 percent; personal care and other services group by 0.42 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.20 percent; health group by 0.15 percent; recreation, sports, and cultural groups by 0.14 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups and transportation groups by 0.06 percent each; and the education group by 0.04 percent. Meanwhile, the group that experienced the deepest decline in the index was the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.36 percent, followed by the information, communication and financial services group by 0.01 percent.
Calendar year inflation (February 2022 - December 2021) was 0.67 percent, and year-on-year inflation (February 2022 to February 2021) was 1.9 percent.
