In May 2023, Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation for a combination of 3 cities in Banten Province was 3.67 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Serang Municipality at 4.40 percent.

Abstract

In May 2023 there was year on year (yoy) inflation of 3.67 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 114.79. The highest yoy inflation occurred in Serang Municipality at 4.40 percent with a CPI of 119.30. Next in Cilegon was 4.38 percent with a CPI of 117.93. The lowest inflation occurred in Tangerang at 3.42 percent with a CPI of 113.48.
Inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by an increase in the index of 11 expenditure groups, namely the transportation group by 12.59 percent; personal care and other services group of 4.69 percent; the health group by 4.12 percent; the food, beverage and tobacco group by 3.45 percent; equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group of 3.39 percent; the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 2.05 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 1.93 percent; the group providing food and drink/restaurants by 1.47 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 1.33 percent; the education group by 0.81 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group experienced a deflation of 0.33 percent.
The May 2023 month-to-month (mtm) inflation rate was 0.09 percent and the May 2023 year-to-date (ytd) inflation rate was 1.50 percent.

November 2022 Inflation Year On Year (Yoy) The Combined Three Cities In Banten Province Are 5.34 Percent. The Highest Inflation Occurred In Serang City At 7.56 Percent.
