Inflation for August 2023 Year on Year (y-on-y) for 3 Cities in Banten Province is 2.96 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Cilegon City at 3.60 percent.

Abstract

In August 2023, the combined year on year (yoy) inflation for the 3 cities was 2.96 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 114.89. The highest yoy inflation occurred in Cilegon City at 3.60 percent with a CPI of 118.07. Next in Serang by 3.28 percent with a CPI of 119.33. The lowest inflation occurred in Tangerang at 2.81 percent with a CPI of 113.59.
Inflation occurred as a result of rising prices as indicated by increases in the indexes of 11 expenditure groups, namely the transportation group by 11.52 percent; self-care and other services group of 4.43 percent; health group at 3.99 percent; equipment, tools and household routine maintenance group of 2.61 percent; the food, beverage and tobacco group by 2.10 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 1.52 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 1.48 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.42 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 1.29 percent; education group at 0.84 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group experienced deflation of 0.38 percent.
The Month to Month (mtm) deflation rate in August 2023 was 0.12 percent and the year to date (ytd) inflation rate in August 2023 was 1.59 percent.

In May 2023, Year On Year (Y-On-Y) Inflation For A Combination Of 3 Cities In Banten Province Was 3.67 Percent. The Highest Inflation Occurred In Serang Municipality At 4.40 Percent.
