There was inflation in December 2020 of 0.21 percent. The highest inflation occurred in the City of Cilegon with 0.38 percent.

Abstract

In December 2020, there was inflation of 0.21 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.60. The three CPI cities in Banten Province experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in the City of Cilegon at 0.38 percent with the CPI of 107.08. Followed by the city of Serang at 0.26 percent with a CPI of 107.42 and the city of Tangerang at 0.17 percent with a CPI of 105.04.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index for the food, beverage and tobacco category by 0.97 percent; clothing and footwear group of 0.08; the food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 0.07 percent; health group by 0.04 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuels group of 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, other groups that experienced a decrease in index were the personal care and other services group by 0.55 percent; the transportation group of 0.18 percent; equipment, tools and household routine maintenance group by 0.10 percent; the recreation, sports, and culture group by 0.07 percent. The information, communication, and financial services group and the education group experienced changes in index but not significantly by less than 0.01 percent.
The inflation rate for the calendar year December 2020 and the year-on-year inflation rate (December 2020 against December 2019) is 1.45 percent.
