There was inflation in March 2021 of 0.05 percent. The highest inflation occurred in the City of Cilegon with 0.29 percent.

Abstract

In March 2021, there will be inflation of 0.05 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.28. The three CPI cities in Banten Province experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Cilegon City by 0.29 percent with a CPI of 108.02. Followed by the city of Serang at 0.12 percent with a CPI of 108.24 and the city of Tangerang at 0.01 percent with a CPI of 105.66.

Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index for the category of household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance by 0.28 percent; the personal care and other services group of 0.17 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.13 percent; the transportation group by 0.11 percent; the food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 0.05 percent; the health group by 0.03 percent; the information, communication and financial services group of 0.02 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuels group of 0.01 percent; while the food, beverage and tobacco group; the recreation, sports, and culture group as well as the education group experienced changes in the index but not significantly by less than 0.01 percent.

Month-on-month inflation rate is 0.05 percent. The inflation rate for the calendar year March 2021 is 0.64 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (March 2021 against March 2020) is 1.39 percent.
