Abstract

In October 2021 there was inflation of 0.09 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.68. The three CPI cities in Banten Province experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Cilegon City at 0.18 percent with a CPI of 108.39. This was followed by the city of Tangerang at 0.08 percent with a CPI of 106.03. Followed by Serang at 0.05 percent with a CPI of 108.82.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index of 9 expenditure groups, namely food, beverages and tobacco by 0.18 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.18 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.13 percent; transportation group by 0.11 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.10 percent; health group by 0.04 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.03 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 0.01 percent; and the education group by 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the group that experienced a decrease in the index was the personal care and other services group by 0.18 percent; Meanwhile, the information, communication and financial services group experienced a change in index of less than 0.01 percent.
Calendar year inflation (January-October) 2021 was 1.02 percent, and year-on-year inflation (October 2021 to October 2020) was 1.38 percent.
